The gospel calls us to teach and learn! Here at Our Redeemer, we take that call very seriously! From the young to the young at heart, we come together to learn God’s word and grow spiritually.
Christian formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God. Developing spiritual maturity requires continual learning – and Our Redeemer offers the following programs to help you!
- Sunday School and Confirmation Classes are held the first Sunday after Labor Day through May at 10:00am.
- Adult Education is held after the 9:00am service most Sundays during the academic year.

Sunday School at ORLC
Our Redeemer encourages children to grow in the knowledge of God’s love and discover their gifts as they learn how to be Christian disciples.
We are excited to launch a new and innovative curriculum this fall from Spark House called Holy Moly. Holy Moly is a Bible-centered approach which teaches children the stories from Genesis through the early church. This creative and fun-filled program includes lesson videos as well as age-specific leaflets and Bible storybooks that make it easy for children in grades Pre-K through 4 th grade remember the stories.
We also have a new, engaging curriculum from Spark House for preteens called Connect! Students in 5 th and 6 th grades will revisit the greatest Bible stories and discover how the Bible relates to their own lives, all in preparation for Confirmation Class. Just like Holy Moly, Connect also includes an age-appropriate video for each lesson that is sure to capture their attention!
Confirmation & Youth Group
Confirmation Class – REVAMPED! Students in 7th and 8th grades will participate in a new curriculum by Spark House called Colaborate: Lutheran Confirmation. This engaging program encourages the students to discover for themselves the ways the doctrines, traditions and beliefs of their faith are relevant to their lives. In addition to the curriculum, many opportunities are offered for community service – from assisting during the worship service to making sandwiches for Bethesda House and everything in between!
Students in 9th grade participate in a mentoring program which further prepares them to affirm their baptism. Each student meets with an adult mentor (of their choosing) and Pastor May on a monthly basis.
It’s not all work and no play! The Jr. and Sr. High youth group participate in fun activities such as attending youth quakes and ELCA Youth Gatherings, jumping at trampoline parks and playing laser tag, to name just a few!
You are invited to join the fun!!
ACES: Adult Christian Education Series
ACES at Our Redeemer stands for Adult Christian Education Series and is our Adult Christian Education offering at about 10 am Sundays between the two worship services. We explore a series of topics from Bible study to Christian ethics to family issues and more as suggested by participants or initiated by staff.
Each Sunday of the month will have a different focus so that members can sign up for other "between service" activities (counters, Bethesda sandwiches, Altar Guild, etc) around the topics that they are more interested in.
Lectionary Bible Class
The Lectionary Bible Class meets from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm each Wednesday except during Lent. Pastor will lead a study of the upcoming Sunday's lessons.
Our Redeemer has a reference library of Bible Study tools, and a circulating church library with various categories of books of interest to our members and friends. The libraries are housed in the Conference Room on the second floor of the Fellowship Hall.
